Enable audio narration
Audio narration reads a document aloud while SwiftRead keeps the spoken words in sync with the reader. Free accounts get a daily narration allowance; PRO includes unlimited narration.
Open a webpage from the browser extension
- Open the webpage you want to read.
- Click the SwiftRead extension icon in Chrome or Edge.
- Click SwiftRead current page.
If a document is already open in SwiftRead, continue with the steps below.
Turn on narration
- Pause reading if it is playing.
- Click the speaker icon next to Play.
- In Text-to-Speech Settings, turn on Enable Narration.
- Close Text-to-Speech Settings.
- Click Play.
Narration works in Focus, Flow, and Spotlight modes. You can also double-click or double-tap the speaker icon to turn narration on or off without opening settings.
If narration isn't working
- If the speaker icon is missing, pause reading first.
- If you've used the free daily allowance, wait for it to reset or select Upgrade for Unlimited Narration.
- If you hear the wrong voice or language, open Text-to-Speech Settings, select Current voice, and choose a voice from Voice Library.
