Troubleshoot extraction failures
If an import finishes with empty text or errors, the source might be blocked or not text-based.
Common causes
- The page blocks automated extraction.
- The file is scanned or image-only, and does not have selectable text.
- The document is still processing.
Steps to try
- Confirm the file type is supported (TXT, PDF, EPUB, or Web URL).
- For PDFs, check whether the file is text-based (has selectable text), or is a series of scanned or image-only pages.
- Try Paste Text or Markdown instead of a blocked URL.
- Refresh and re-import the file.
